Samsung Seems Ready To Launch Its First Fan-Cooled Gaming Smartphone
Samsung’s top-of-the-range smartphones have such high performance that they are also suitable for gaming, but to date, the South Korean company does not offer a dedicated gaming smartphone model. However, a new patent field suggests that a smartphone dedicated to gamers is coming soon.
Phones designed for gamers often offer features that go beyond a very powerful processor and excellent graphics quality. For example, they are equipped with a cooling system consisting of real fans integrated into the device.
According to the LetsGoDigital website, Samsung has registered the intellectual property of the phrase ” Activate fan mode ” and ” Unleash your fan power ” for its mobile devices with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). To date, however, no tablet or smartphone from the South Korean company is equipped with cooling fans: a move that suggests that the announcement of Samsung next year is getting closer and closer.
Samsung Registers “Fan Mode” Trademark
In recent weeks, Samsung Electronics has filed several patents and registered some slogans for its future mobile devices, as reported by the LetsGoDigital website. Among these are “Armor Frame” and “Pro-Shield”, which most likely refer to the expected Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 folding smartphones.
However, LetsGoDigital’s attention was drawn by another trademark filed on 11 May 2021 both at the EUIPO, the European intellectual property office, and at the English equivalent UKIPO, the UK office. This is the phrase ” Turn on fan mode ” that has been registered for Class 9 devices, a category that refers to smartphones and tablets. A move that suggests how future Galaxy smartphones could be equipped with an internal fan cooling system.
Is The First Samsung Gaming Phone On The Way?
Over the years Samsung has developed cooling solutions for its smartphones, especially for the top of the range that offers high performance. They range from the Water Carbon Cooling system to the Copper Vapor Chamber, up to the Graphite Cooling pads. None of these systems are used for mobile devices however, none incorporate a fan.
However, in recent years in recent years, more and more gaming phone manufacturers have introduced fans to their devices. They range from Nubia’s Red Magic to Lenovo’s new Legion Phone Duel 2 presented in April 2021.
The recording of the phrase ” Activate the fan mode ” for smartphones and tablets, therefore, suggests that Samsung is ready at least to test mobile devices equipped with a fan, which could therefore be intended for gaming. The presence of a fan could be integrated into the next foldable of the South Korean company or again in the Galaxy S21 FE, which could arrive next August.
Therefore, seems that Samsung’s first gaming phone is getting closer and we just have to wait to see what the future proposals for gamers will be.
